Swiss PVA Support V2 is PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) filament manufactured in Switzerland.
PVA dissolves in water. You can print PVA as support material for undercuts or overhangs in the models. Available in diameters of 1.75 and 3.00 mm, specially optimized for 3D printing.
Watersoluble
Swiss PVA Support V2 is 100% cold water soluble. Higher temperatures will accelerate the dissolve process (60°C is a good temperature). Until it is completely dissolved in cold water, it may take several hours. Special additives were added that the material does not absorb too much moisture. These additives also slow down the process of dissolution in water.
Non-toxic
Swiss PVA Support V2 is non-toxic, but should not be eaten!
PVA is used in the pharmaceutical industry as a capsule for medication. The capsules dissolve in the human body. The basic material of Swiss PVA Support V2 (without additives) is very similar to these capsules. It is a 100% biodegradable product, it also does not burden the drinking water. Swiss PVA Support V2 contains no filler materials artificially increase the volume and reduce performance.
Extrusion
Recommended extrusion temperature about 190° - 230°C.
CAUTION: Do not let the PVA at 220°C stand still in the hot extruder if you dont print!
At this temperature, the special additives start to seperate and it forms a dark yellow mass that clogs your extruder. Be careful and preheat the nozzle only when you start the print job immediately. If the extruder is running you have no problems with the additives, if you do not exceed 230°C.
We recommend you to extrusion at 190°C and start to increase only if the layers dont stick perfect. Different printers require different temperatures due to Hotend differences.
Swiss PVA Support V2 can be printed with or without a heated bed. Recommended temperature for the heated bed is about 60° to 90°C. When the first layers dont stick perfect we do recommend a heated bed.
Print speed
For quality prints, we recommend 40% print speed of PLA filament.
Print PVA without a cooling fan.
